12 July 2012 : Recording Research

Very excited, I’ve finally booked in to a studio in Melbourne to record my debut album! After a couple of scoping visits and checking out studios and engineers and producers, I’ve decided to go with Woodstock Studios in Balaclava, Melbourne. They seem like a real professional outfit and I get the good tummy vibes, so off we go. A week in September for recording and a week in October for mixing and mastering. Now just need to choose the songs and pin down the structures. The boys have been excellent at helping shape little bits and pieces of the songs during rehearsals and it’s coming along.

Unfortunately, the band are not going to be able to join me in the studio in Melbourne, so I’m investigating session musicians to fill in the very large gap.
